Somatic Psychology

Somatic Psychology deals with the interaction between the mind and the body – the best example would be the after-effect of a psychological trauma to the physical body. Our body has its own way of holding onto traumatic experiences, this is evident through the individual’s body language, for others, it can manifest through physical pain such as stomach aches, headaches, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, sexual dysfunctions or just plain low immune systems.

Basically, Somatic Psychology’s primary goal is to promote both mind and body awareness to achieve psychological, and at the same time, physical well-being.

The therapists at CTA understand the interaction between body and mind and incorporate that into their therapeutic regimen.
